This cooperation will provide students and faculty with the opportunity to purchase discounted connectivity packages bundled with low-cost laptops, allowing for wireless broadband internet connectivity anytime, anywhere. Subscribers will purchase these packages through a phased payment plan arrangement, which will be facilitated through direct agreements concluded between them and selected lending institutions.

David Inbar, Director General of Foris Telecom Mozambique, said that "the program provides for the delivery of ten thousand (10,000) laptops, in the first phase, starting in January 2010.  Packages will include a laptop, modem, and a broadband monthly Internet subscription, at a highly competitive price in comparison to current market prices in Maputo, Mozambique. Inbar added that Foris Telecom is committed to creating conditions for Mozambican students to have greater access to knowledge.

Louis Finance, President of the Association of Students of EMU, thanked Mr. Inbar and said that this program will indeed serve as an asset in the acquisition of knowledge by students.  Mr. Finance expressed his hope that this initiative will expand to all schools outside of the city of Maputo.
