The Foris Telecom management team is highly experienced in launching and profitably operating wireless communication services in emerging and developing markets. The team, which has worked together for over two decades and started the Fore Group investment business from the ground up, has successfully taken several investments from start-up level to a successful IPO.
Mr. Dov Slook, Chairman and CEO - Mr. Slook provides strategic guidance to the Company, and oversees the Company's Board of Directors. He is responsible for executing the overall vision and strategy of the Company. A co-founder of the Fore Group, Mr. Slook has successfully created and managed various infrastructure operations in emerging and developing countries. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Mr. Slook was responsible for starting
Bakcellwhere he was responsible for initial operations and growing the customer base prior to selling Bakcell for a significant profit. Together with Mr. Eliyahu Shoshan, Mr. Slook manages relationships with the various Fore Group companies. Mr. Slook earned his BSc. in electrical engineering at Ben-Gurion University in Israel.
Mr. Eliyahu Shoshan, President - Mr. Shoshan's primary role at Foris Telecom is managing external relationships with third party companies, providers, and partners including the acquisition process of spectrum licenses in the target countries and in-country operations. Mr. Shoshan serves as the president of most Fore Group companies operating in Foris Telecom's target countries, and is on the Board of several other Fore Group companies. Together with Mr. Slook, Mr. Shoshan has had an active role in successfully creating and managing various infrastructure operations, such as Bakcell, in the group's target counties.
Mr. Alon D. Nathan, Managing Director - In addition to being a member of the Foris Telecom Board of Directors and a long time partner of the Fore Group, Mr. Nathan is involved in managing Foris Telecom daily operations and maintaining relationships with third party providers country and regional managers. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Mr. Nathan was responsible together with Mr. Slook for establishing, managing, and selling Bakcell and was a member of the
Leadcom Integrated SolutionsBoard of Directors at the time of the company's IPO. Mr. Nathan earned his MBA at Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Yonathan Mizrachi, Digital Inclusion and e-Government Officer - Dr. Mizrachi's primary role at Foris Telecom is the development and management of horizontal business integration efforts and Digital Inclusion strategy with strategic global partners. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Dr. Mizrachi was a senior advisor on national strategy development for e-Readiness (e-Governance including G2C, G2B, G2G) and digital divide related issues for the Israeli Ministry of Finance, the Israeli National Committee on ICT, and for the Government of Haiti (2008). Dr. Mizrachi was also a senior e-government strategy, processes, and architecture specialist at
Netwise, Israel and a research fellow at the BRM center of Technology and Society at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Mizrachi received his Ph.D in Anthropology from Harvard University in 1993.
Mr. Haim Maimon, Chief Operating Officer - Mr. Maimon oversees Foris Telecom daily operations. Prior to his role at Foris Telecom, Mr. Maimon was CEO of Bakcell Ltd., the second largest GSM operator in Azerbaijan. Mr. Maimon has built and managed operations, finance, IT, and billing system departments for international companies worlwide. Mr. Maimon holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from Tel Aviv University, and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel.
Mr. Or Laufer, Chief Information Officer - Leading the Company's IT operations, Mr. Laufer's main responsibilities include managing IT relationships with other Fore Group companies, managing and locating appropriate IT providers to set up local operations in target markets, and crafting plans for the overall IT operations of the Company. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Mr. Laufer was CIO of Bakcell. Preceding his role at Bakcell, Mr. Laufer served as a team leader and software engineer in the Israeli Defense Forces elite Information System Division (Mamram). Mr. Laufer holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Israel Open University, and is a member of the Institute of Certified System Analysts in Israel.
Mr. Yaron Farchi, VP Projects and Engineering -Mr. Farachi is responsible for RF planning, commissioning, setup, and deployment of Foris Telecom's WiMAX networks. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Mr. Farachi was the CTO of Bakcell, responsible for building and operating cellular networks in Azerbaijan where he gained valuable experience in RF GSM systems, transmission systems, switching andbilling systems.
Country Operations Management
Mr. David Inbar, CEO Foris Telecom Mozambique - Mr. Inbar established Foris Telecom Mozambique and manages daily operations, business development, marketing strategy, and relations with business partners and governmental offices. Prior to joining Foris Telecom, Mr. Inbar was CEO of Backcell. In this capacity, Mr. Inbar upgraded the cellular infrastructure in Azerbaijan to GSM technology and conducted a major reorganization of the company. Mr. Inbar holds a B.A. in business administration from the College of Management in Tel-Aviv and a Board of Directors Management Diploma from Bar-Ilan University.
Mr. Moshe Mitz, CEO Foris Telecom Uganda - Mr. Mitz has managed the establishment of Foris Telecom and its WiMax network in Uganda and focuses on operations, marketing and sales. Mr. Mitz served as the VP of the Business Division of Cellcom, Ltd., the largest GSM operator in Israel for 4 years, where he was responsible for sales and services to thousands of business customers. Prior to this role, he managed Bezeq-call Telecommunications Ltd., Israel's largest phone operator for the business sector, serving as the CEO for 3 years. Mr. Mitz holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Ben-Gurion University, and an MBA from Bar-Ilan University.
Mr. Carl-Frederic Barrau, CEO Foris Telecom Haiti - Recognizing early on that then emerging Broadband Wireless Access technology is an excellent option for deploying communication infrastructure in developing countries, Mr. Barrau has dedicated himself to building Haiti Data Networks since 2002 where he serves as CEO.Mr. Barrau has since then gained tremendous experience in the sector, while witnessing firsthand the birth and evolution of WiMAX, and has successfully positioned Foris Telecom to reap the benefits of this standard in Haiti.A co-founder of Alo Communications, a national chain of stores retailing handsets and distributing physical and electronic top-up for the largest Caribbean mobile operator, Mr. Barrau has invaluable insight in large-scale launching of new operators, intimate knowledge of the market, and of the challenges of distribution in emerging markets. Mr. Barrau is a founding member of AHTIC, an association for the development of ICT in Haiti. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the Syracuse University, NY.
